REFLECTION
I took this class because I wanted to enhance my knowledge regarding immigration, since it is not a topic that I feel is conversed freely in my day to day life. There were many things that I learned in this class but if I can take away one specific thing it would be the ability to start conversation regarding immigration, seeing and hearing other individuals stories and their points of view when discussing immigration topics. I also learned that immigration cannot be defined as just one specific concept, but it is a broad issue in where many issues within that issue take place. This course connected greatly to my English courses with the fact of really breaking down a big topic and narrowing down to the specifics to a point where it would be able to target various audiences. This assignment fit in the overall class by allowing me to see my take on an immigration issue and how I could get involved and hopefully be part of evoking change. It also allowed me to see the immigration issue as a broad image, but place myself as part of the issue in a condensed verse to allow myself to shrink the change and be involved.
